Hotel Sleeps

As it’s the time of year where the weathers starting to get noticeably colder I’ve started to think about where to go on holiday to get away from the Glasgow gloom. I know that the summer only just ended but it’s good to plan ahead to make things as cheap as possible. I’m looking forward to getting out and about and reviewing more hotels around the world.

A friend recently told me about a festival up in beautiful Iceland. It’s called Iceland Airwaves and it’s on from Wed 13  to Sat 17th of October. It’s billed as one of the hippest festivals and makes use of Rejkaviks size and natural beauty. The festival is spread over lots of cool venues around Rejkavik from clubs and bars to churches and even an aircraft hangar.  Iceland is the home of Sigur Ros and the Airwaves festival have made it their mission to make the festival all about the hippest new bands. Iceland Air do some package deals which include flights and hotels. It’s a little close timewise for me but if I make i’ll let you know how the Rejkavik hotel I choose stands up.

I’m also floating the idea around of going on a two week trip to the West Coast of America next year with a few friends. This to me sounds like an awesome idea. We would probably fly into San Francisco and drive down through Los Angeles and then finish up in Las Vegas. I’ve only been to America for a few days in New York and a couple of days in Santa Monica so I would love to go back for longer and see more of it. A roadtrip across part of America is something I’ve always wanted to do so it’s a heavy contender.  That’s probably going to be next summer though if that’s the one I choose.

I would also like to get a bit of sun now that i’ve learned to put on sun tan lotion and stick to the shadows. Cheap package holidays could be an option for a no nonsense bit of fun but what I think would be even better is a week in Greece. My wife has been before and ever since has been talking about how great the food and the people are.  Not to mention the great scenery. This would be instead fo the America trip and not as well as.

In the meantime we’re taking a weekend trip to London and we’re going to be staying in the Shoreditch area. Stay tuned for a new hotel review.
